And among the trees live the folklore figures her grandmother used to welcome: a gardening Saci, a Matinta who trades advice for coffee, a Curupira who silently tends the vegetable patch. Without a guardian, the magic is fading, and Carla must choose between the life she knows and the place where, for the first time, she can rest.
