Technology and Presence

A more conscious relationship with technology

We live a paradoxical relationship with technology. It connects us to people far away, but can distance us from those beside us. It gives us access to infinite information, but can leave us more confused. It expands our ability to create, but also to distract ourselves.

At Luna Waves, we believe this paradox is not a sentence. We can choose a different relationship with technology.

Technology in service of presence

The question that guides us is: is this technology serving my presence or competing with it?

When used with intention, technology can:

  • Help us find moments of calm (playlists for relaxation, meditation apps)
  • Expand our creative capacity (writing tools, assisted music composition)
  • Connect people who share genuine values and interests
  • Facilitate access to knowledge that helps us grow

What we avoid

We do not believe in technology that:

  • Exploits psychological vulnerabilities to maintain engagement
  • Creates dependency through intermittent rewards
  • Masks loneliness instead of addressing it
  • Makes us feel that we are never enough

A challenge

Choose one app you open out of habit. Today, before touching it, ask yourself: what do I want from this?

Perhaps the answer is not "don't use it." Perhaps it is "use it with attention." And that difference changes everything.

Technology in service of presence is what we seek.
